Speaker Spotlight: Dr. Risto Simeonov – Advancing Pediatric Surgery in Macedonia

 


We are honored to present Ass. Prof. Dr. Risto Simeonov, MD, PhD, a distinguished pediatric surgeon and academic from Macedonia, who will be joining us as a speaker at the upcoming 4th World Child & Adolescent Medicine and Health Conference.

About Dr. Risto Simeonov

Born in 1972 in Skopje, Macedonia, Dr. Simeonov graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje in 1997. He pursued his residency at the PHI University Clinic of Pediatric Surgery in Skopje, where he specialized in pediatric surgery in 2004.

In 2018, Dr. Simeonov completed his doctoral thesis and also transitioned to the Private Health Institution “Acibadem Sistina” Clinical Hospital, where he now serves as the Chief of the Pediatric Surgery Department. Alongside his clinical expertise, he contributes to academia as an Assistant Professor of General and Pediatric Surgery at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Goce Delcev University–Shtip.

Notably, in 2009, he achieved a historic milestone by performing the first pediatric kidney transplantation in Macedonia. His scholarly contributions include over 30 abstracts, numerous scientific articles published in esteemed journals, and co-authorship of several student textbooks.

“A Rare Case Report of a Newborn with Double Atresia, Esophageal with Distal Fistula Followed by Anal Atresia.”
