Advancing Pediatric Allergy Research with Dr. Tracy Augustine

Introduction:

The 4th World Child & Adolescent Medicine and Health Conference (CME/CPD accredited), scheduled from October 21–23, 2025 at Novotel Al Barsha, Dubai, brings together leading experts to share their latest findings in child health. Among the distinguished speakers, Dr. Tracy Augustine, a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Sidra Medicine, Qatar, will present her pioneering work on pediatric cow milk allergy.

Her presentation, “Distinct Allergen-Specific CD4+ T Cell Immune Responses and Gut Microbial Association Prevail in Pediatric Cow Milk Allergy Endotypes,” explores how immune responses and the gut microbiome interact to shape different types of milk allergy in children—a pressing issue in pediatric healthcare today.

Benefits of Attending

Attendees of Dr. Augustine’s session will gain:

  • A deeper understanding of cow milk allergy mechanisms in children.
  • Insights into distinct CD4+ T cell responses and how they relate to allergy endotypes.
  • Knowledge of gut microbial associations and their influence on immune responses.
  • Exposure to advanced immunological tools and techniques: flow cytometry, rare antigen-specific T cell detection, multiplexed cytokine profiling, 16s rRNA sequencing.
  • The ability to apply this knowledge in clinical settings to improve diagnosis, management, and therapy for pediatric food allergy.

Research Interests

Dr. Augustine brings over 14 years of experience in:

  • Cellular & molecular biology with a strong focus on immunology.
  • CD4+ T cell simulation, phenotyping, and functional analyses.
  • Detection of rare antigen-specific T cells and cytokine profiling.
  • Expertise in immunoassays: flow cytometry, multiplex cytokine assays, etc.
  • Microbiome studies and sequencing (16s rRNA), particularly in relation to pediatric allergy.

Currently, she is leading an institutional grant-funded project on non-IgE mediated cow milk allergy, an area in pediatric allergy that is understudied and in need of better diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Awards, Recognition & Achievements

  • PhD in Biotechnology, National Centre for Cell Science, Pune, India (2017).
  • Joined Sidra Medicine, Doha, Qatar in 2018 as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow.
  • Recognized for her advanced technical skills (flow cytometry, cytokine profiling, microbiome analysis) and her contributions to understanding allergy endotypes in children.
  • Her research has global relevance, especially for pediatric immunology and food allergy fields.
